About these terms
These terms apply when you use murtiglobal.com, book a consultation, start a return online or use our client portal. By doing any of these, you agree to them. “We” and “us” means Murti Global, a licensed CPA firm in Richmond, Virginia.
Information on this site isn't advice
Articles, service descriptions, the fee estimator and other tools on this site are general information. They aren’t tax, legal or accounting advice for your situation, and using the site doesn’t make you our client. Talk with us before acting on anything you read here.
When we work for you
We become your accountants once we agree the work in writing, usually in an engagement letter that sets out the scope, the fee and the responsibilities on both sides. If the engagement letter and these terms ever differ, the engagement letter wins.
Fees shown on the site and in the fee estimator, and the estimate you see when you start a return online, are estimates. Your final fee is confirmed in your engagement letter once we’ve seen your documents.
You’re responsible for giving us complete and accurate information, and for reviewing your return before it’s filed. We rely on what you provide and don’t audit it unless we’ve agreed to.
Consultations
Consultations are paid when you book. Your card is authorized while you pay and charged once your meeting is booked; if we can’t book the time you chose, the authorization is released and you aren’t charged.
Need to cancel or reschedule? Tell us at least 24 hours before your consultation for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours aren't refunded.
A consultation is general guidance based on what you tell us in the meeting. It doesn’t include preparing or filing returns, which we agree separately.
Deposits, saved cards and payments
When you start a return online, you pay a $1.00 deposit and your card is saved with our payment processor, Stripe. The deposit is credited to your final fee.
By saving a card with us, or asking us to keep one on file, you authorize us to charge it for fees you’ve agreed to, such as the fee in your engagement letter or a consultation you’ve asked for. We email you a receipt each time we charge it. You can ask us to remove a saved card at any time.
Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never reach our systems. Refunds are made to the card you paid with. Apart from the consultation cancellation policy above, refunds are covered by your engagement letter.
Your client portal account
- Keep your password private and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for what happens under it.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- Upload only documents you’re entitled to share with us, and nothing harmful such as viruses.
- Portal messages aren’t for urgent matters or same-day deadlines. Call us at +1 (804) 480-1080 for anything time-sensitive.
We may suspend an account to protect you, other clients or our systems, for example if we see signs of misuse.
Using this site
Please don’t use the site for anything unlawful, try to reach information that isn’t yours, interfere with how the site works, or collect data from it by automated means. The site’s design, text and logos belong to Murti Global or our partners, and may not be copied without permission.
Other services
Some features rely on other companies, such as Microsoft Teams for meetings, Stripe for payments and Google for sign-in, and we link to others such as EazeAccounts and the IRS. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we aren’t responsible for their sites.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Tools such as the fee estimator and refund status page are conveniences, not guarantees.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site. Our responsibility for professional services is set out in your engagement letter. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that can’t be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of Virginia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here, with its effective date, is the one that applies. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
